Gun-toting robber hits Fleetwood Bank branch near Kutztown

MAXATAWNY TWP., Pa. - Police are on the hunt for the person who robbed a bank in Berks County.

The holdup was reported shortly before noon Monday at the Fleetwood Bank branch at 15300 Kutztown Road in Maxatawny Township, just north of Kutztown.

Pennsylvania State Police released surveillance images that showed the masked robber wearing a black coat with a hood pulled over the head and khaki pants.

"To be all covered up like that and to come in there was no messing around," said Trooper David Beohm, Pennsylvania State Police. "He came right in the door, did his thing and then left."

State police said the man pointed a gun at tellers while demanding money.

"He came in. He got his money, and he left," Beohm said. "Nobody was hurt."

The robber was described as standing between 5 feet, 6 inches and 5 feet, 10 inches tall and weighing 170 pounds. He was last seen walking south on South Kemp Road.
