RPD vice: Man recipient of cocaine from Dominican Republic

READING, Pa. - A package shipped to Berks County from the Dominican Republic has resulted in a Reading man being shipped off to jail.

Antonio Rosario-Vargas was the recipient of a package that contained more than 100 grams of cocaine hidden inside metal pieces, according to Reading police vice officers.

U.S. Customs and Border Patrol agents initially intercepted the package and forwarded on to Reading police, who assigned an undercover officer to deliver it to the home it was addressed to in the 900 block of North 10th Street on Tuesday.

Having admitted to accepting and opening the package, Rosario-Vargas, 25, was arrested by police and charged with various drug offenses. He was committed to the Berks County Jail on $150,000 bail.
