Texting trucker charged in deadly crash now behind bars in Berks

READING, Pa. - The tractor-trailer driver charged in a crash that killed a 9-year-old boy is now behind bars in Berks County.

Joshua Knight was texting when he slammed into the back of a car on Route 61 in Tilden Township in October 2018, authorities said.

The crash killed Yesier Diaz-Ramirez, 9, and left four family members seriously injured.

Knight was charged in April with homicide by vehicle and four counts of aggravated assault by vehicle, among other offenses. He was taken into custody in his home state of Michigan.

Knight was arraigned in Berks County early Friday morning and is behind bars on $200,000 bail.
