A Catasauqua School District teacher is facing charges for allegedly sexually assaulting a teenager.
Kimberly Race, 42, was charged Thursday with statutory sex assault and corruption of minors, said Lehigh County District Attorney Jim Martin in a news release.
Race is accused of sexually assaulting a 15-year-old multiple times at her home in July and August 2018, Martin said.
The investigation began in June when the district attorney's office received a report of the alleged assaults, the release said.
The victim had been a student in one of her classes several years prior to the alleged assaults, authorities said, but there are no allegations of abuse while he was her student.
Race has since been suspended from her position with the school district.
She was arraigned on the charges Thursday. She faces a preliminary hearing on Oct. 7.
