A Montgomery County man pleaded guilty to child pornography charges.
Matthew Laver, 38, of Souderton faced multiple felony counts of distributing, receiving and possessing child pornography.
An investigation showed Laver trafficked in child pornography while he was employed as a Montgomery County sheriff's officer, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office in the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.
Laver was arrested in November after investigators say they found child porn on his electronic devices. He was indicted on those charges in March.
The U.S. Attorney's Office said if convicted, Laver will face a maximum sentence of 80 years in prison, which includes a 5-year mandatory minimum term.
