Agreement reached to re-open Main Street Market in Bangor

BANGOR, Pa. - Shortly after its recent closure, Main Street Market in Northampton County will re-open as a grocery store.

An agreement was reached to reopen the business in downtown Bangor, according to a news release.

Duane and Nichole Smith will open the market in October. Duane was a founding partner of the market more than 25 years ago.

"We look forward to bringing back the same level of service Main Street Market has always been known for," Duane said.

A number of the store's employees have agreed to come back to work when the market re-opens, Duane said.

Arrangements are being made for building and site improvements, including repaving the parking lot.
