Allentown to hold first Cinco de Mayo celebrations

ALLENTOWN, Pa. - Mariachis and maracas will be taking over downtown Allentown in May.

The city says it will hold its first ever Cinco de Mayo Weekend from May 3rd-5th.

The festivities will include a "Tastes of Mexico" event in the Arts Park, a themed pub crawl and a block party.

Cinco de Mayo celebrates when the Mexican army beat France at the Battle of Puebla in 1862.
