Giant holds grand opening in Walnutport

WALNUTPORT, Pa. - People in one Northampton County town have a new place to shop for groceries.

Friday was the grand opening for the new Giant store in Walnutport.

The store celebrated its opening with some local organizations, including the Walnutport Police and Northern Lehigh Food Bank, giving each group a $1,000 donation.

The town has been without a supermarket since the old A and P-owned Pathmark store closed down in 2015 after going bankrupt.
