Local businessman delivers gifts at Jackson Early Childhood Center

ALLENTOWN, Pa. - Santa and Mrs. Claus had a busy day, handing out presents to 303 kids at the Jackson Early Childhood Center in Allentown.

But Ole Saint Nick has another Nick to thank for these presents. Nick Riccione is a South Whitehall Township businessman who bought every gift for these kids. And he's done it for Allentown kindergartners the last three years. He looks forward to this day.

"Because I feel fortunate that I was lucky enough to go from being poor to owning a company and doing better and better every year, so I like to give back," said Riccione.

Each child gets three gifts.  One to open here at school and two to take home. The kids, of course, were happy to get them.

"Because we wanted presents for Christmas. That's why I was waiting for presents for 20 years," said Jai'lynn Bermudez. "I can't wait to tell Mommy."

"I'm thankful for all of my presents," said Melvalene Torres.

In all, Nick bought more than 900 presents, and even included little baggies of batteries. He wants to keep this going and maybe add another school next year.
