Ownership transfer of Sands Casino to be considered at Pa. Game Commission meeting

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - We may soon know more about the future of Sands Casino Resort Bethlehem.

The Pennsylvania Game Commission said it will hold a hearing on May 29 in Harrisburg to consider an ownership transfer request to Wind Creek Hospitality.

Wind Creek is the marketing entity of the Poarch Band of Creek Indian tribe.

The state board will need to decide if the tribe's other casinos and greyhound race tracks provide sufficient experience for Wind Creek Gaming to be successful in Pennsylvania.

If the sale is finalized Wind Creek Hospitality plans to invest in a 300-room hotel expansion and indoor water park.
