People of all faiths in Lehigh Valley gather at vigil in wake of mass shootings

HANOVER TWP., Pa. - People of all faiths joined together in the Lehigh Valley to pray in the wake of mass shootings in the U.S.

The Lehigh Conference of Churches held a "Vigil for Healing and Hope" at the Respect Graduate School in Hanover Township.

Faith and community leaders spent time discussing strategies to rid their communities of violence.

Organizers of Thursday night's gathering say it comes at a critical time.

"This is a sign of a commitment a lot of us have about how we can address tolerance, violence and how can bring people together around solving problems," said Larry Pickens.

Faith leaders say they'll hold more events to build upon Thursday's vigil, including forums on policy making in their communities.
