South Whitehall approves Jaindl land subdivision

SOUTH WHITEHALL TWP., Pa. - The South Whitehall Township Planning Commission approved a subdivision request Thursday from John Jaindl.

The subdivision is for two acres of property located at 2886 Strohl Road on the border of both North and South Whitehall townships from his uncle David Jaindl, the owner of Jaindl Land Development and Jaindl Farms.

According to township records, the plan involves subdividing a slightly over two-acre parcel containing an existing home for use by John Jaindl. The remaining 12.5 acres will remain owned and farmed by David Jaindl.

Neither Jaindl was present at the meeting as they were represented by Mark Leuthe, engineer and president of Lehigh Engineering of Walnutport.

Leuthe reviewed the subdividing particulars for the planning commission members prior to their final approval.

An added stipulation made by South Whitehall as part of the approval was the applicant also secure the necessary approvals from North Whitehall Township as the property lies in both townships.

Commissioners were set to review the subdivision plan for renovations to the King George Inn, but the item was removed from the agenda because the applicant said engineering plans are not yet finalized.
