Lower Pottsgrove teen wins $3 million as Fortnite world champ

All those hours playing video games have paid off for a Montgomery County 16-year-old.

Kyle Giersdorf, of Lower Pottsgrove Township, is celebrating a big payday after winning the Fortnite World Cup.

Giersdorf, who goes by the name "Bugha" when competing, won the competition and the $3 million prize.

It's the largest-ever payout for a single player in an E-Sports tournament.

The competition took place Sunday at Arthur Ashe Stadium in New York. Some 40 million players competed for a chance to play in the finals, which was narrowed down to 100 contestants from 30 countries.
