Man accidentally shot in neck at gun-training facility, police say


Police in the Poconos are investigating what appears to be an accidental shooting.

Officers were called to the Threat Assessment and Tactical Solutions Group in Stroudsburg around 2 p.m. Sunday, said Stroud Area Regional Police.

A 46-year-old man was shot in the neck, police said. The man had been participating in a training drill being held at the facility by the Rockwell Tactical Group, authorities said.

The man was flown to the hospital, but his name and condition are not being released, police said Monday morning.

It appears to have been an accidental shooting, but the investigation is still active, police said.

The shooting was an isolated incident and there is no threat to the community, authorities said. All people involved have been identified, but police are not releasing their names.

No other injuries were reported.
