Bethlehem man facing charges in Carbon County fatal crash

Driver and front-seat passenger fled scene

KIDDER TWP., Pa. - The driver of the vehicle in a Carbon County crash which killed a 24-year-old Albrightsville man is facing multiple charges, Kidder Township police said.

Ian Becker, 29, of Bethlehem, is charged with homicide by vehicle, aggravated assault by vehicle and involuntary manslaughter among others.

The single-vehicle wreck happened in the Lake Harmony area along South Lake Shore Drive in Kidder Township just before 4:30 p.m. Saturday.

Becker and passenger John Healey, 26, of Lake Harmony, fled the scene but were later located.

James J. Boyle, 24, of Albrightsville, was killed in the crash, Kidder Township police said.

The 2017 Nissan Altima was speeding when Becker lost control and crashed. Boyle and Cole Rex, 25 of Lehighton, were found in the back seat after the accident. Cole was flown to Lehigh Valley Hospital.

Becker is in Carbon County Prison.

No word yet on what may have led to the crash.
