EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. -- State police released new surveillance of a Connecticut homicide suspect in Monroe County.

Peter Manfredonia, 23, was last seen Sunday afternoon in the East Stroudsburg area, according to Pennsylvania State Police.

A surveillance photo released Monday afternoon shows the Connecticut man in dark-colored shorts, a white t-shirt, and carrying a large duffel bag, police said.

Manfredonia is wanted on homicide and assault charges in Connecticut. He is considered armed and dangerous and anyone who sees him should call 911 immediately.

Connecticut State Police said a rumor that Manfredonia had been captured in New Jersey was not true, and that police are still actively looking for him.

Connecticut State Police said Manfredonia was seen leaving the scene of a homicide and serious assault in Willington, Connecticut Friday morning. Two men were assaulted with an "edged weapon," and one of them, a 62-year-old man, died of his injuries, police said.

Manfredonia then committed a home invasion and held someone against his will in Willington, said Connecticut State Police. He stole pistols, long guns, and a vehicle, which he used to drive to Derby.

Manfredonia then went to an acquaintance's house in Derby, and is accused of killing a 23-year-old man.

Manfredonia was driving a black Volkswagen Jetta with a bumper sticker reading “In Tribute to Newtown Victim #26.” Police said the vehicle was located in New Jersey at the Pennsylvania border on Sunday. They did not specify an exact location.

He then made his way to East Stroudsburg, Connecticut police said.

On Sunday afternoon, 69 News received a tip that the suspect got into an Uber vehicle in the Stroudsburg area and asked to be taken to Allentown, but he reportedly got out of the car and ran off.

Allentown police said they are still working to confirm whether the tip is accurate.

Manfredonia had been wearing a Carhartt maroon knit cap, black and blue pajama pants, red shoes and a grey and black Adidas hoodie.

Connecticut State Police said later Sunday he was last seen wearing a gray shirt and gray pants, police said.

Pennsylvania State Police released the new surveillance image Monday afternoon.

Police said he is believed to be armed with pistols and long guns, and should be considered armed and dangerous.

Anyone who sees Manfredonia or has information on his whereabouts should call 911 immediately.

A woman who said she was abducted by Manfredonia has been found safe in New Jersey, police said Monday. The 23-year-old woman, whose boyfriend was found shot to death Sunday at the home in Derby, Connecticut, was located at a rest stop near Paterson, New Jersey, with her 2016 Volkswagen Jetta.

The woman told police that Manfredonia took her from the residence against her will, using her vehicle as a getaway car.
