Man fatally crushed by car he was working on

A 10-year-old pedestrian was in critical condition after a crash in Hunterdon County, New Jersey Wednesday, the county prosecutor's office said.

Lebanon Township police officers were sent to a crash shortly before 8 p.m. on Route 513 in the area of Bunnvale Road involving a passenger vehicle and pedestrian.

After an initial investigation, police found that the pedestrian was walking with a friend when the child darted out into the roadway and was hit by a vehicle driving south on Route 513, the prosecutor's office said.

The child was flown to Morristown Memorial Hospital and was currently listed in critical condition, the prosecutor's office said.
