HERSHEY, Pa. - Wyomissing took a 14-7 lead into halftime on Friday, but Central Valley outscored the Spartans 28-7 in the 2nd half to win the PIAA-3A football championship at Hersheypark Stadium.
The Spartans (9-1) were aiming for their second state title in program history. Central Valley (12-0) took home the crown after falling in the finals last year.
Wyomissing connected on two field goals in the first half, a 40-yard and 44-yard field goal, that gave the Spartans an early 6-0 advantage.
Central Valley averaged over 50 points per game this season and Wyomissing limited the Warriors' offense, but couldn't contain them enough in the loss.
