Flyers waive veteran defenseman Andrew MacDonald

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - The Philadelphia Flyers placed the veteran defenseman Andrew MacDonald on unconditional waivers for the purpose of terminating his contract. When MacDonald clears waivers he can be bought out.

MacDonald had only one year remaining on his six year deal he signed with the Flyers back in 2014. His cap hit for this season would have been $5 million.

During his time with the Flyers, MacDonald totaled 11 goals and 68 points in 272 regular-season games.
