Pigs rally late to beat Bats, 7-4

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The Lehigh Valley IronPigs rallied to score six runs in the final two innings of Thursday night's game to beat the Louisville Bats 7-4. The Pigs (57-63) took the lead in the final frame and held it in the bottom of the ninth to secure the victory.

The Bats stormed out of the gate and built a 4-0 lead in the fourth inning. Then Lehigh Valley began to chip away at it and cut it to 4-3 in the eight inning thanks to RBI singles by Austin Listi and Deivy Grullon. The Pigs then finished the job in the ninth inning when Rob Brantly and Ali Castillo hit RBI singles of their own followed by a two-run single by Andrew Romine to give the IronPigs a 7-4 lead.

Austin Davis earned the win for LV as he pitched two scoreless innings in relief. Edgar Garcia notched the save.

The IronPigs' road trip continues into the weekend as the team heads to Indianapolis to take on the Indians. The squads will play four games in three days. The series opener is on Friday at 6:05 p.m.
